Environmental Policy
At Northern Environmental we continually strive for improvement and are committed to managing the environmental impacts of all operations carried out.
Based in Wetherby, Leeds in West Yorkshire we produce and distribute Commercial Environmentally Friendly Cleaning Chemicals, Janitorial Supplies and Catering Equipment & Disposables. We also offer Environmental Consultancy to businesses looking to improve their activities and reduce their impact on their local Eco Systems.
The employees and management of Northern Environmental recognize the obligation to protect the environment in which the company operates. This obligation is reflected in the following commitments. Northern Environmental shall:
- Maintain an Environmental Management System – currently BS8555
- Ensure Environmental awareness amongst all employees and provide sufficient levels of training to allow them to meet their environmental responsibilities
- Develop procedures to manage environmental impacts, normal or accidental, arising from company operations
- Meet, and where reasonably practicable, exceed the requirements of all applicable environmental legislation and regulations
- Ensure delivery, use and storage of chemicals, raw materials and wastes is carried out in such a way as to prevent pollution and minimise risk of pollution, to air, land and water
- Encourage suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors to improve their environmental performance
- Undertake waste reduction, re-use and recycling activities wherever practicable and improve the efficiency of energy use within the organisation
- Regularly review our environmental performance and that of our systems
- Set objectives and work towards targets to ensure continual improvement in environmental performance
- Communicate this policy throughout all levels of Northern Environmental and make it available to the public on request.
