Bio-D, like us are an independent, family-owned, ethically motivated company, dedicated to promoting the use of hypoallergenic, environmentally responsible detergents that have a minimum impact on the ecosystem both in their use and in their manufacturing process. Where possible, all raw materials are plant-derived and are obtained from renewable sources.

We operate a strict policy whereby none of our raw materials or finished products are tested on animals. We have a fixed cut-off date of 1988. All raw materials are free from genetically modified ingredients; animal by-products and we are subject to scrutiny and approval by The Vegan Society, Naturewatch Trust, BUAV and The World Wildlife Foundation.

All bottles, containers and packaging contain optimum levels of re-cycled materials and are themselves re-cyclable.

Many of the ingredients contained in conventional household cleaners, detergents and soaps are known to have detrimental and damaging effects on the environment and humankind. A passage from the research booklet, "Water Quality in Catchment Ecosystems" by A.M.Gower, reads…"of the pharmaceutical products, detergents, cosmetics and other similar domestic products and their metabolites (ingredients), greater quantities are discharged into sewers from domestic premises than from the premises manufacturing them."

What this statement means in simple language is that domestic pollution causes more damage to the environment than industrial pollution !!

Recycled This product is entirely made from reclaimed and /or recycled materials.

Biodegradable This product will completely biodegrade in water or decompose at landfill.

Friendly To Aquatic Life These chemicals are made from raw materials that have been chosen for their negative effects on the Environment and particularly to aquatic life. They have very low bio-accumilation, which means they use less oxygen to perform their chemical reaction. This leaves more oxygen left in the water for flora and forna.

Made from sustainable materials This product is made from materials that have come from sustainable sources. Meaning that they are made by reputable manufacturers that have displayed a commitment to the economic and environmental welfare of others. The components of the product will not be from exploited workforces or insensitive and/or irresponsible production and pollution.

Eco friendly This product is made and produced from the best possible environmentally friendly materials, whilst still maintaining the quality and strength to fulfill the commercial demands of the user.
